Researched the Rason Special Economic Zone in the DPRK bordering Russia and China, and wrote a report on Russia-DPRK relations. Wrote a report on the effects of UN sanctions in the DPRK and another on the successes and difficulties of NGO work in the DPRK.

Worked on Snow Leopard conservation project in Xinjiang province, promoting the project and establishing networks with local conservationists. Helped evaluate the success of the expedition in promoting conservation and gathering funds.
